The age-old question, "why did the chicken cross the road?", can finally be put to rest. The concept for this animated short started back in 2009 with the audio recording of my daughter who was only 6 years old at the time. The audio files sat in a folder on a hard drive in a desk drawer for the next 13 years before it was rediscovered in 2022. I promised myself I would finally finish what I started.
Huge shout out to those who contributed their vast talents...

Open the Layer Parenting section in the Timeline panel and click inside each child and select "remove"

How do you extend the durration of multiple keyframes at once?
Do you mean stretching a timeline like an accordian?
@@keyframer. I have 15 individual key frames in an animation. I want each of those key frames to take up two frames on the timeline so that it runs slower and takes longer. Now imagine I have 700 key frames and can’t afford to go in and extend every single one at a time.

Had this issue with a Wacom drawing tablet and out of nowhere this started giving me a headache where the Pen would not register the first part of some strokes. This fix worked instantly. Thank you so much

Aside from updating, you can always edit the symbol (dbl-click it) and select your layers & keyframes, hold down option key and drag the highlighted animation further down the timeline. While the duplicated section is still highlighted, right click over them and select REVERSE FRAMES. Now on the parent timeline, insert a keyframe where the reversed animation starts and tell it to Play or Play Once

Great tutorial. However, when I select a symbol and then IK Effector, it places it way off the symbol. Any idea what is wrong?
I've been binging "Home Movies" recently since the 25th anniversary, and as I was, I find out you and Kim O'Neil were the ones responsible for the show's charming, jumpsuit-wearing character designs. With this scene over here, it's even funnier than I remembered, and one detail I love is how you can easily identify the characters' eyeballs in the pitch darkness. Your story behind this apparently last minute sequence makes me impressed with it even more. Thanks for your contributions to Soup2Nuts, Mr. Georgenes.

Yes! If you create a new document in Animate, look along the bottom of the New Document screen. You'll see sample file thumbnails. Look for this exact pig and double-click it :)

Massive difference! Native Bone tool is extremely limited and buggy. EDAPT is way more advanced and an all around much more stable tool filled with so many thoughtful features. EDAPT is what we’ve always wanted in Flash. The Bone tool is, imo, unusable.

Yes - all animation done using Adobe Animate. Backgrounds were a mix of Animate and P'shop. Scenes were broken down into short shots and exported to MOV and everything edited in Premiere Pro including VO, music and SFX
